I just happened across this, you can't know how happy it made me. Fiacre's my uncle, the sister he mentioned was my mother. Hearing about family through other people's eyes is always interesting, they don't have the fog of love clouding their vision, but that's a great story of fiacre, and the kind of story that sadly doesn't get passed much around more…

hi there, i was looking to see if I could find some of Fiacre's art online...I know him but not well...I'm also a writer here in Canada, and a few years ago I had the great fortune to interview and write a piece about Dr. O'Rafferty, Fiacre's dad. I remember looking at the family photo's on Dr. O'Rafferty's wall and his pointing out his daughter wh more…

Brit teachers are a sex offending nightmare. It only takes one to reach summer camp in USA to boost child porn production for an entire state.

Hey,6 moths ago I was as settled as I had ever been, I had lived in newcastle for 8 years, I had a huge network of friends and a job I loved, but I knew that I wasn't going to get anything more from the job, so I started looking else where. As you know this led me to upping sticks and moving down to blackpool.
I admit its been alot ha more…

After a long absence, I return to find these comments. Thanks! The day after I left her house my nan ended up in hospital - her 4th time this year I think - bless her socks. Apparently she's on the mend again though. more…

Its so true the adictive nature of gaydar is frightening. I was quite relived i didn't recognise my own profile in the ones you described, untill i got to "those who like to list every single facet about themselves". are you telling me that the entire gay world does not need to know that I like the "A696 from n`cle to Edinburgh" (i'm ashamed to sa more…

Yeah, interesting question, routine.....babies love it, and whatever keeps either of my two from kicking up a fuss, I'm in favour of. Also find I'm a lot more productive when I don't actually have to decide what to do - Wednesday morning, time to do the hoovering (or not......sometimes my routine exists purely in theory). It's a bit worrying though more…

So much of your first paragraph I remember experiencing myself except I was in a single bed and I was staring at the ceiling above my head. I remember being scared and calling out to my dad "what happens when we die?" ...he shouted "BE QUIET AND GO TO SLEEP". I buried myself under my duvet, curled into a ball and eventually fell asleep.

I went to see the solar eclipse in France, 1999, but the view was spoiled by clouds. I wanted another chance, and reading an astronomer's almanack, found out that there would be a total eclipse where I live. Yipee, I thought, until I read further and found out it would be in the year 2500, or something like that. It suddenly struck me that people w more…

Here in Doncaster a new international airport has just opened and the government and environmentalists seem to be doing everything possible to make flying more expensive. The wealth and opportunities created by the airport are sorely needed after the closure of the pits and surely it's more environmentally-friendly to travel from a local airport th more…
